Okay, I lied in the previous post. THERE WILL BE A REVIEW TODAY! :D
The previous post totally gave me motivation to review more and get all my reviews done.
SO! I will be reviewing Daiso's Horse fat hand cream! I happened to come across this today during my visit to Daiso, and honestly i was quite curious at what this is because I have never seen it before and so out of curiosity, i bought it, but after coming home and googling information about it, i truly regret buying it :/ Not that it sucks or anything but it goes against my animal rights beliefs :/ But anyway, this is what the packaging looks like and i also tried googling reviews for this product only to find out that SJ's Siwon got this as a gift from one of his fans before? lol
This costs $1.50 at Daiso.
Anyways, I'm a bit confused on this product because the package says 'Horse fat', while the bottle of the product says '馬油' in chinese, which literally translates into horse oil. the bottle also has english stating " horse oil hand cream". So my question is...is horse oil and horse fat the same? LOL... well, i guess it is.
INSTRUCTIONS, as stated on the package:
spread the product over your rough or dry skin.
PRECAUTIONS:
-do not use while having abnormal symptoms such as scrape, swelling, or eczema on the skin.
-while or after using this product, when abnormal symptoms such as irritations appear, discontinue using, consult the doctor or the pharmacist.
-keep in cool place, avoid the direct sunlight or high temperature.
-keep out of reach of children.
Most of you may have guessed that since its Daiso, this product is probably made in Japan or Korea. Wrong! I was quite surprised myself to find that this is made in Vietnam.
The bottle is pretty small itself, stating that it is 60 grams, which is around 2 ounces... if you look at the picture i took below here, you will see that the bottle itself is not filled up all the way. this is really evident if you place the bottle under the light. From the red line down is how much cream you get out of the bottle.
On to the testing:
Pics of my hand before and after the cream is applied.
Perhaps because of my bad lighting, you can't really see the difference, but after applying the cream, my hand really did get shinier and smoother. this cream seriously makes your hand really smooth and its not the oily, sticky kind of cream/lotion either. The amount of cream on my hand was also smothered among both of my hands, so its not like i used all that cream for just one hand.
Okay, a lot of you are probably wondering, DOES THIS SMELL BAD since it is horse oil or fat after all.
The answer is no, honestly, if i gave it to you without telling you, I don't think you can even tell its horse fat. The smell of this cream is really faint, it kind of reminds me of a light floral minty smell. I don't really know how to describe it, but the smell is quite pleasant.
As for the texture of this cream, it actually reminds me of butter. Once you put it on your hand it somewhat dissolves and melts onto your skin like butter as well.
well, i think this was worth the purchase, since I have realllllyy dry hands, ( i think i would have gotten the foot cream version of this if they had it since my feet are way drier), BUT if it is really made of horse fat then no thank you, i refuse to purchase this again lol.
i honestly wonder how much horse fat is used to make this though.. it is not stated in the ingredients...
