Hi all, here is a PART 2 on Fake vs Authentic Chanel
If you have not already, please click HERE to read the first post I put up regarding fake vs real.
At the time of that review, I did not have an authentic No 5 bottle with me to compare with the fake I received.
I finally got some authentic bottles and will show some photo comparisons.
IF you have already ready my previous review, then you will know that the one on the left is the FAKE.
I purchased a tester bottle of an authentic. Note that the authentic is an Eau Premiere (EP), and not Eau De Parfum (EDP). EP is a modernized, lighter version of the EDP, but in terms of bottles, they are pretty much the same.
So right off the bat, the "N5" font already shows noticeable differences. On the fake, the N is wider, and thicker than the authentic.
C H A N E L is also spaced differently as is P A R I S
Bottom of the bottles. Again, on the authentic the text is ETCHED onto the bottle. On the fake, it is a sticker.
Text is also different. I noticed that a lot of the authentic Chanel fragrances always have an address listed on the bottom. The fake did not have that.
Back of the bottle. Notice that the fake doesn't show any text, whereas the authentic has legible "Chanel" and N5" on it.
Close up of the text.
Bottle size is a bit different. But not too noticeable.
Symmetrical base on the authentic vs fake.
In terms of smell:
The fake smells like cheap fragrance. It has a nasty baby powder smell and feels like subpar perfume.
It does not have a soothing smell to it and stings my nose.
The authentic is lighter, still smells like baby powder, but it smells like MORE than baby powder.
In short, if you're NOT buying fragrance from the department store or Chanel, make sure you authenticate!
Buying a fake and thinking it is real can really ruin your experience with the brand.
