The 10 Step Korean Hair Care & Products I Tried

It's been an extremely long time since I last updated this blog. I've done a terrible job at updating as there has just been too many things going on and times really do fly by.

Today's post is going to be a long one...
I was starting to have hair issues and looked up remedies, which redirected me to the 10 step Korean hair care process. The whole thing seemed confusing and extremely tedious, but I decided to give it a shot.

Below are reviews on items I've tried and what I think about it.

A bit on the background and concerns of my hair:
-Long
-Not Dyed
-Dry itchy scalp
-Constant dandruff
-Thinning of hair

I've used American branded shampoos and conditioners for nearly my entire life. I also didn't always have scalp issues until several years ago.
I only used shampoo and conditioner, nothing else.
I wash my hair daily, because if I didn't, my hair would be very greasy.

***DisclaimerI was not sponsored by any of the below products in exchange for this review. I purchased all of these items with my own money. This is an honest review based on my experiences.

Starting off with the Shampoo and Conditioners:

LA'DOR DERMATICAL HAIR-LOSS SHAMPOO

I've seen pretty great things about the La'dor brand, so decided to try this product out. It is quite expensive.
The product claims to help with hair loss and is free of harmful ingredients.

Outcome:
I hated it.
The shampoo barely produced any suds, and my hair didn't feel clean at all after usage. Instead of the 'squeaky clean' feel, it left an oily feel. Almost as if I put a lot of oil into my hair.
In fact, the next day after using it, my hair was GREASY. I kept scratching my scalp after using it too.
I didn't use it enough to test if their claims are true. I will most likely try to finish using this, but will have to mix it with another shampoo.

RYO SHAMPOOS

Seeing as this is a very popular Korean shampoo brand, I purchased several different kinds of this shampoo. The differences are quite confusing to me and to this day I still don't really understand what their distinct differences are.

This is the best smelling of them all. Has the herbal scent mixed in with a very nice floral scent.
I'd probably go with this one the most.

The most herbal scent of the three I've tried. This is really heavy on the ginseng. It also dried out my hair the most even though this is the one that's dedicated to help with hair loss.

The shampoo for this one has little beads that is supposed to aid with cleaning the scalp. It only created a 'cooling sensation' the first few times I used it. It had no effect afterward. Maybe because my hair was already used to it?

Outcome:
When I first tried these shampoos and conditioners, I wasn't aware that they can't be used on their own. I think you definitely need to use other hair care products in addition. After the first few uses, my scalp issues didn't decrease, in some instances it got worse. I'll definitely continue to use this shampoo brand, or any other popular Asian shampoo brand in the future. The scents are more pleasing to me and feel less artificial compared to American brands.

ESTHETIC HOUSE CP-1 SCALP SCALER

Scalp scaling is something that is new to me. It is supposedly a very popular trend that is used to help clean the scalp.
According to the 10 step process, this should be done after shampooing.
This product has grains that seem like salt that gently helps with scrubbing the scalp.
I apply it to my scalp for around 5 minutes prior to washing off.

Outcome:
This product has a very nice scent. At first, I was using it once a week, but I felt it was a bit too excessive.
This product definitely leaves a 'squeaky clean' feeling, but at the same time I also felt like it stripped everything off my hair. If additional items were not used to supplement the hair afterward, I think there would be issues.
I also feel like a shampoo wouldn't really need to be used prior to using this? The shampoo already cleans your scalp, and using this is sort of like a double kill.
I now use this once every 2 weeks, or even once a month.
I think it does help clean the scalp from buildup and will continue to use this.

LA'DOR TEA TREE SCALP CLINIC HAIR PACK

This is supposedly the next step in the process. This product has consistency of a conditioner and is supposed to have cooling effects that relieves dry itchy scalp and prevent dandruff.

Outcome:
I initially LOVED this product because it had an amazing cooling effect on my scalp, but eventually I felt like it made my scalp even more itchy? Is that even possible?
I still use it once in a while, but I'll have to monitor to see if it really helped with my hair issues.

MOREMO WATER TREATMENT MIRACLE 10

This is a water-based treatment that claims to contain many ingredients that is good for your hair. This is supposed to hydrate damaged hair. Again, another expensive product..

Outcome:
I want to say that I love the way this product smells.
I've read many conflicting information about how it should be used. Some state it cannot be used on the scalp, and some have claimed that they have been using it on the scalp.

It leaves my hair nice and soft, and I love it. Other than that, I don't know if it really did any good to my hair?
I feel like this is something that can be left out of the process and still be okay.

ESTHETIC HOUSE CP-1 RASPBERRY TREATMENT HAIR VINEGAR RINSE

This product is supposed to help with balancing the PH levels of the scalp. I've also seen many conflicting information about how to use this product. Some people put it on their hair and rinse it off. Others mix it with water and spray it onto their hair as a leave in product. I suppose both methods would work, but I've only tried the first one.

Outcome:
This bottle is somewhat annoying to use. Once you open the bottle, there is a stop plug that needs to be removed. The output is basically like those for facial toners. If you're not careful, you'll end up pouring out too much.
I use this after all the above steps. It has a very nice raspberry scent that isn't overwhelming. I actually can't even tell it has vinegar in it because I can't smell it at all.
This has left my hair nice and soft. I think it does help with the scalp issue, so I'll continue to use it.

LA'DOR ACV VINEGAR HAIR TREATMENT

This product is similar to the CP-1 vinegar treatment that it helps with the PH levels of the scalp. I don't use both at once since they both do the same thing. I only use this once in a while if my scalp feels dry or itchy.

Outcome:
This product has a very nice apple scent and I love it. The consistency is similar to that of a conditioner. It doesn't sting or make my scalp itch and makes my hair feel really soft afterward. I'd say it does the same as the raspberry treatment except that it adds on more nutrients and shine to the hair. This is a product I would buy again.

TONYMOLY HAEYO MAYO HAIR NUTRITION PACK

I'll start by saying that I have an existing bias against Tonymoly because I've never really liked their products since they're not effective for me.
This haeyo mayo pack is extremely popular and top rated so I gave it a try. It claims to be a creamy hair mask that contains many ingredients to help hydrate the scalp and reduce split ends.
The bottle and product really resemble mayonnaise and can easily be mistaken for it.

Outcome:
I feel like this product is mainly over-hyped because of the cute packaging. I apply this to my hair (not scalp) and leave on for around 5 minutes before washing off. The smell of this product is somewhat eggy, but not overwhelming. I don't really feel like it has made much of an impact on my hair so I'll pass on this one the next time around.

MEDIHEAL HAIR SHEEP STEAM PACK

A box contains 5 packs. There's plenty of other hair mask brands, but I'm guessing this one is the most popular because who doesn't want a cute sheep cartoon on their head while wearing the mask?
It is a hair steaming mask that claims to have ingredients such as goat milk. It is supposed to provide nutrients to the hair to help with moisturizing and repair of damaged hair.

Outcome:
The steaming mask is basically a hair cap. It is extremely hard to put on especially with long hair. My hair kept slipping out of the mask.
The first use, I felt a nice steaming effect on my hair, afterward I didn't feel anything at all.
I was using this once a week, but due to it being costly, I've decided to only use it once a month or when I feel like it is necessary. This mask needs to stay on at least 15 minutes before it can be rinsed off. It also has an extremely strong baby powder scent. In fact, the first time I used it, the baby powder scent lasted for a few days.
Overall, my hair felt so soft after use. Softer than using all of the above products. It definitely helped nourish the hair.

I've included photos of my hair before and after the first time I used it.

INNISFREE MY HAIR RECIPE STRENGTH TONIC ESSENCE

This product claims to help with strengthening the roots of the hair and help with scalp issues. Again another product that is highly rated.

Outcome:
I'm not sure if this actually works? I apply this onto my scalp after using all of the above products. Occasionally, it leaves a stinging sensation on my scalp, but I can't really say if it has helped or not.

LA'DOR KERATIN POWER GLUE

This is a leave-in hair treatment that is supposed to help with damaged hair. It claims to make hair strong and healthy.

Outcome:
They didn't call it glue for no reason. It definitely looks and has a glue-like consistency. I have been using this daily ever since I got it and I must say that this product is amazing. It has helped a lot with my hair and I feel like my hair has become thicker after use. A small bottle goes a long way, and I'll keep using this product.

MISE EN SCENE PERFECT ROSE PERFUME SERUM

Last of all the products, this hair serum. Again very popular product that claims to help with damaged and dry hair.
The rose scent isn't overwhelming and doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy like other serums I've tried before.

Outcome:
I use this every morning prior to going to work and have not had any problems throughout the day at all.
The serum instantly makes my hair feel shiny, smooth and soft.
It is a product I would continue to use.

IN CONCLUSION

That was a lot of products to review! So did any of this help at all? Yes, and no. As a note, I've been using these products for around 4 months prior to this review.

Prior to using these products, I was having issues with dandruff and itchy scalp. After using these products, I deal with much less dandruff, but still incur occasional itchy scalps.
I'm also not religious about using all of these products at the same time. Some days, I used the vinegar treatment, some days I didn't. Same with the other products. If I wasn't actually that lazy and used them all consistently, maybe I would have gotten a better result? Who knows.

Additionally, another issue is if one product is actually the main winner that solely helped with my scalp issues, or if it's a combination of using them all. That is really difficult to determine.

On top of all this, I also have been taking hair supplements which may or may not have helped with my scalp issues.

In the end, the result is that using these items HAVE helped and I will continue using them. But to say which item has helped the most, I am unable to say.
I would recommend this 10-step beauty regime to anyone who is suffering with hair issues.

If anyone has any other products they'd like to recommend, please feel free to leave me a comment!

I hope this review has helped any who are considering using these products.

REVIEW: Daiso Deep H Moisture Gel: Hyaluronic Acid

Hello all! Once again, it is time for another review! ^^ 40 G or approx. 1.4 FL OZ made in vietnam  Instructions:  Apply proper amount of gel cream on face after washing.  how it looks As you can see, i already used up a good amount of the bottle. it is very similar to the collagen gel in terms of color, texture and smell. If i remember correctly though, this smells a bit more sour than the collagen one.  once again, daiso has very vague descriptions as to what the product does and i only made out moisture lol. I really wanted to know more and what exactly hyaluronic acid is so i googled it.  according to some webpages, hyaluronic acid is used for wounds, burns, moisturizers and etc., we also create hyaluronic acid in our bodies! the things you learn! anyways, another website stated that it is for preventing wrinkles.  I'm not entirely sure if this Daiso product is effective, i have been using it daily for 1+ week recently and honestl

REVIEW: Differentiating Between AUTHENTIC and FAKE Chanel Fragrance

Hi All, today I will be doing a review on AUTHENTIC vs FAKE Chanel Fragrances .  As a disclaimer , I DO NOT claim to be an expert in authenticating Chanel fragrances. These are all based on my own research and personal experience.  Please take a look at pictures of this No 5 Chanel Perfume that I bought off Ebay.  Just by looking at the BOX itself, everything actually looks pretty good. I even received this item BRAND NEW, with the clear plastic wrap on it. BUT, it is actually a FAKE. surprise!  Now, let's look at the perfume bottle. I have circled some of the issues with the bottle.  INDICATOR #1 OF A FAKE PERFUME:  Take a look at the base of this bottle. It is uneven. on the authentic, it should be symmetrical on both ends.  The cap is LOOSE. I am unable to show this on the photo, but the cap comes right off and does not snap onto the bottle.  I can't say much about the smell because I haven't smelled t

REVIEW: Deep C Moisture Gel, Collagen + Reply to Comments Received!

Hello all! This is a reply to the comments i have received as well as a quick review. I managed to squeeze in some time right now to post here haha.  First off, I was asked a question about the Q10 Milky Lotion that I reviewed and stated that I would get back to the person who asked if this product was safe on the face. To be honest, I only tried it on my face for about 3 days, because I totally forgot about it the remainder of the days. Sorry! >-< BUT, yes it is safe on the face . it actually makes your face quite soft and smooth too! I actually used it with the Q10 Moisture Lotion (which i have not reviewed yet), and I'm guessing that serves somewhat as a toner to keep your face moist.  Secondly, I received a comment by Mandy today and I would love to reply here in this post! Thank you very much for the praise! I am glad that my reviews are convincing and are helpful to you! Your comment has made me very happy, along with others who have sent me comments
